Megan is a trial attorney at heart. She handles civil and criminal cases in both federal and state court, including cases involving fraud, public corruption, the Federal Food Drug and Cosmetic Act, the False Claims Act, securities, and regulatory compliance, as well as business and employment disputes. Megan represents both plaintiffs and defendants and has an accomplished record litigating cases in court and in front of juries. Megan comfortably maneuvers complex discovery issues and regularly helps clients navigate pre-litigation risk assessments, overseeing contract and other business negotiations, internal and government-facing audits, and investigations.
Megan passionately pursues factual and legal theories to achieve favorable and just outcomes for her clients. For example, in December 2021, Megan tried and won a full acquittal against the Central District of California U.S. Attorney’s Office, which charged a physician-client with 12 felonies and 12 lesser included misdemeanors involving his compounded medicine practices. In a related case, Megan negotiated a single-count misdemeanor plea (down from a significant multi-count felony indictment) and achieved a “no sentence” sentence (no custody, no probation, no fine).
Megan served as a judicial law clerk for the Honorable André Birotte Jr., U.S. District Court in the Central District of California, during Judge Birotte’s first year on the bench.
